| Modern-day Sanpete County, Utah |
| Zachariah Kump Sr and his first wife, Elizabeth Ann Cloward, were married and lived in Moroni, a town of Sanpete County. Elizabeth Ann died in 1874 and within a year Zachariah married Elizabeth Ann's first cousin, Mary Catherine Cloward. By 1881 the family had moved to the nearby town of Chester where both Zachariah and Mary Catherine lived the remainder of their lives. The descendants slowly began spreading throughout Utah and eventually the Western United States. To date, Kump and Cloward family burials are documented at the following cemeteries within Sanpete County: Centerfield, Chester, Ephraim, Gunnison, Manti, Moroni, and Mt. Pleasant.
